Any function to get the average of primary variable on any surface defined in .tin files?

Hello OGS developers,

I have just a quick question. Is there any function in the source code of ogs5 that returns the average value of the primary variable of PCS on the surface defined in a .tin file? I guess that anybody must have written the function before assuming the popularity in need. If not, that’s fine, too.

Based on a private communication, I am adding a short sort of a self-answer to the conversation

you could try to use Paraview
though, if you can extract the respective surface and then apply the
filter "Integrate Variables.

Though the original question is to do it inside of PCS simulation in OGS, this is possible externally.
